I taught at InterAmerican Academy in Guayaquill, but none of the people I taught with are still there. Here is a link to their website, you might be able to contact someone that way. http://www.interamerican.edu.ec/ I have one parent contact still there. I will send you her e-mail.
Hi Lucy,
Thank you very much for sending me the info on changemakers. Im currently compiling the information they request and i'll return the form tommorrow. I will keep you updated on this issue.
Lastly can you create a website or do you have any contacts who can create a simple online presence for SAVS
Thank you for the warm welcome to the GEC. Finding urban schools, let alone entire districts with strategic plans addressing global education, was not easy. I've identified a fine candidate in Carlsbad Unified School District, Carlsbad, CA. As I'm currently completing my literature review and finalizing my methodology, I have no findings to report, yet. However, your idea to start an urban schools group (or is there one already?!) is a fine one. I know of several urban charter schools with an international/global focus. I have shared the GEC site with several teachers at these charter schools. Thanks again and look forward to many more conversations!
Aloha Lucy,
Thank you! This will be a very meaningful way to network with global educators. Yes, Judy Beaver is a wonderful colleague. I look forward to hopefully contributing to this network and also learning a lot too. Thanks Lucy! Terrina
Lucy your idea fits with what I have wanted to do for a long time I have tried. I need someone or two people who are really into and will really do it. Someone who is committed. I have used ning to do this, but think maybe another way would be better for younger ones. I would be all for it. What about if I contact you in Aug as school is out already for summer. School gets out earlier in Alaska.
So good to see this site and your work. It looks great and seems very active. Also, so glad to see you are still traveling the global education road. Come check out my latest project: www.voiceseducation.org. We also have a ning site: My Voice. I'll will continue to visit Global Education. It has a great deal to offer.
Hello Lucy. Good to know you're at the Univ. of Chicago. I work in the College and I have two little ones at Lab and a third in a few years...I hope our paths cross sometime on campus! Sincerely, David
Hi Lucy! I was at that conference and Vivien, Shari and I were wondering if we spoke with you personally. This is such a great resource and I look forward to being an active member! I hope to see you again soon!
Hi Lucy, I'm not teaching this year and so am not active here, however I wanted to let you know about the translation and language scripts and widgets for Ning networks that are available on my network Translated all the scripts are completely free, the network was created with the education community in mind as my way of giving something back. There's a variety of scripts available starting from translating a whole site into 40 different languages, to translating a specific paragraph, adding text to speech, spelling checker and more. I think they would be a useful addition to any global network or project with users from different parts of the world.
All the best
Susan
Hi Lucy,
Thank you for your welcome. Yes, I will be attending the ICe conference next week! I'm looking forward to it. I'm also excited to be a part of this ning. I hope to meet new teachers and collaborate with them in the near future.
This is a phenomenal resource! One that is needed and one that will help all students and staff to develop 21st C Skills in learning and teaching. I currently work with economically disadvantaged students across the nation and this source is a godsend. Thank you so much.
Question: Can you add Applications (e.g., Polls, File Upload) to Groups?
Thanks Lucy. You can learn more about my background and projects here. I'd love to chat with you at some point about potential collaborations. Anne and I are working on some projects at Curriki that I think many of the community members here would be interested in! Let me know when you are free and perhaps we can Skype! Thanks and have a great day! A
Thanks for the email. Did you get to see my website?

my request for Advisorship for your Group?
I can be found in most Who's Who incl.
America; The World; American Education; Among Teachers
and Educators and soon to be in The UN Register.
I will try to electronically attend the February meeting.
I have to be in Washington D.C. to collaborate with
Education officials.
The Website you have established is one of the most innovative
and necessary projects that I have seen since I became a
UN Advisor in Global Education. It is the very same philosophy
and practice that I am trying to put into motion. I have
recently been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize which you can
view on my website. In summary, it says that I have attempted
to network global education administrators in order to understand
other countries, cultures and specifically individuals in order
to create a sustained peace. May I commend you on what you have
accomplished. I think compassion and understanding is what is
demanded of everybody if this world is going to continue.
I intend on getting extremely involved with this collaborative
in order to help in any way I can.
It is my honor to electronically meet such a intuitive and
innovative individual as yourself.
