Let's chat one on one through skype. I'm not quite ready to get a session going just yet, as there are a few details I need to work out with my school district. I'm excited about it, and am looking forward to exploring the possibilities with skype.
I'm usually available from 8:15-9:15 in the morning, except when there are meetings which can be pretty sporadic. Monday through Thursday I am available from 3:15-3:40. I have fifth grade from 10-11:20 (two 40 minute blocks) and 3rd grade from 11:20-12.
For our setup, my plan is to use a dv camcorder or a macbook for the video and the classroom sound equipment. We will be projecting onto a smart board.
Look forward to hearing from you.

how are you, I am an elementary music teacher in Florida and am interested in doing a skype link-up with my students. I teach K-5. Skype is a new concept for our school, but something I have been using for several years. Let me know!!

I am excited to be part of such a new venture. There is so much potential when we communicate globally like this.
In my classroom, we discuss music, culture, history, and geography--as well as cultural events that bring the world together such as the 2012 World Cup in South Africa and the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada.
I look forward to creating friendships with other educators and schools globally from our music room. I especially enjoy the excitement of "live" chats using Skype. Of course, there is a time difference between America and most of the world, but in some ways this can be overcome. We are also excited to chat with Mexico and South America.
By the way, it's a beautiful day here in the Chicago area: sunny and 52 degrees Fahrenheit (that's 11 degrees Celsius). This is 10 degrees above normal for the end of November. We are celebrating Thanksgiving weekend here. Happy Saturday, world!
