Education Fellowship Opportunity in 6 Countries

Education Generation is re-imagining the role of education in developing a generation with the confidence, capacity and determination to help shape their local and global communities. EdGen is a crowdfunding platform to fund scholarships for young leaders in the developing world to participate in some the world’s most forward-thinking education programs.

So why the e-mail?

We are looking for 12 Fellows to spend time with us and our partners in 6 countries: Ghana, Kenya, Peru, Rwanda, Ecuador and Sri Lanka. Please find details below and visit their site:www.educationgeneration.org/fellowships

Do let me know if you have any questions! I've attached the application and Fellowship details.

How does it work?

We partner with high caliber institutions and community organizations to manage scholarships and student relationships. These organizations are deeply rooted in their communities, and typically emphasize leadership development, creative thinking, entrepreneurial skills and market relevant training, while working to influence their education system as a whole.

Our Fellowship Program

We provide access to transformative learning opportunities for both our scholarship recipients and Fellows. Our Fellowship Program gives graduate students and young professionals the rare opportunity to work alongside, Education Generation scholarship recipients. Fellows work in one of our 6 partner organizations in Ecuador, Ghana, Kenya, Peru, Rwanda or Sri Lanka.

Our Fellowship Program has 4 main components:

1. Research

The Fellow will work alongside Education Generation to develop research questions to better understand the impact of our scholarship program in student’s lives and their communities. These questions are also intended to guide the Fellow’s experience and allow them to critically engage in our programs.

Research will include meeting with teachers and principals of our schools, and seek to understand curriculum, future opportunities for student and the financial challenges they face.

2. Scholarship Follow-up

Collection of report cards, photographs and letters from our students in conjunction with our overseas partners.

Tracking success of past scholarship recipients to better understand our long-term impact.

3. Community Involvement

Community involvement is location dependent. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership Training programs for current students
  • Planning and implementation of  volunteer service programs for students

- Increasing staff and intern’s (sponsored students) capacity with computer skills, the internet and social media
