A COMMUNITY SERVICE, CULTURAL EXPERIENCE SCHOOL TRIP for students to South Africa and Bali.
I started this company 8 years ago designed to provide service trips to school communities working in schools and orphanages in the mornings and taking part in culturally rich experiences in the afternoons.
For example, in South Africa the morning are spent with students working with children in a remote, disadvantaged school and then on safari in The Kruger National Park or a cultural activities such as learning traditional dancing, painting or cooking in the village in the late afternoon.
Our company is one of the first to build the Week without Walls and IB CAS hours program around individual students and schools. Our aim is to make a difference to the lives of all involved.... building lifelong communication networks! I have been a teacher and coordinator at Adelaide’s leading IB high school Glenunga International and have been running this business for the past 8 years. I or a member of my specialized team will escort the group personally and design each trip around the selected students skills and abilities leading to greater outcomes.
We are putting together 2010 and 2011 program schedules and I hope your school may be interested in learning more about our trips by visiting our website and reading the blog from a recent trip by the International School of Bangkok. Students wrote in reflections:
“This trip helped me realize something about myself. I understood that the simplicity of creating space for somebody to play and enjoy life, can provoke a smile, and end a bad thought. It’s one of the most amazing feelings I’ve ever experienced”
“This trip to South Africa has sharply contrasted all my other experiences in which I have attained a new perspective of humanity as a whole”
“As a result of this experience, I believe I grew and changed in many ways. Throughout my life, I have done a lot of community service that I have found meaningful, but none of it compared to the community service we did on the trip.”
