About Me or Reason for Joining the GEC:
I have been educated and trained as an environmental scientist and recently joined as Head of Research in Bangladesh Youth Environment Initiative, an independent youth leaded research and policy institute in Dhaka. My education trajectory is somehow unusual. During course of education I have been switched back and forth from natural science to social science disciplines to understand complexity of large scale patterns, process of planetary system and relevance to society. I have completed a Joint European Masters of Science degree in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from University of Ghent, Belgium under Erasmus Mundus, European Union Fellowship. I am also holding a M.Sc. in Global Ecological Change from University of Bayreuth, Germany under Elite Study Network of Bayern and B.Sc. in Environmental Science, from Khulna University, Bangladesh. Beside formal education, I have attended training in IIT & CISED India, ETH Zurich, NIOO Netherlands, SDU Denmark, Oxford UK and many other reputed academic institutes. I am principally interested in multidisciplinary global change research namely sustainability and resilience of social-ecological systems, esp. breaking down lock-in situation by working with people's cognition backed with sound natural scientific information. My passionate travel around many European and Asian countries motivated by biocultural diversity and non-hierarchical mind.
The reason for Joining GEC is to take part and promote global agenda of education for sustainable development and nature conservation through environmental education.
