Comment by Sophia Aron on October 28, 2012 at 6:46am This group seems to have faded away. However, I would love to talk to people about their experiences with video conferencing and share tips and techniques.
My company, Critical Language Service (www.criticallanguageservice.com), has been conducting structured Arabic courses for schools, clubs, homeschool groups, and adult learning groups for about a year. We use both telepresence and Skype, depending on the technology available to the group. Our teachers are all located in the Middle East and our students so far have been in the US and UK.
We are particularly interested in knowing if there is interest from schools in expanding their foreign language offerings by using international video conferencing.
