The Instructional Technology Strategies Conference will take place February 20-22 in Portland Oregon. This group is for attendees and for GEC members who would like to connect with my workshop attendees who will be designing global projects.

Looking for educators to skype with my workshop participants on Monday, February 21 at approximately 10 AM PST. People in my workshop will be experimenting with collaborative tools and I'd like to connect them during the workshop to other educators. These brief virtual introductions may lead to other opportunities for schools to connect in the future.
If interested in taking a few minutes to help us out, please leave your name, school, location, grade level, subject matter, and your Skype ID on this form:

This workshop has been very inspirational and motivating. I am excited about reaching out to the world..one step at a time. Very interested in collaborating with other 4th grade classes (ages9-10) and hearing what projects are happening in the classroom.

Comment by Marion Jacob on February 21, 2011 at 11:10am I teach 9th grade Environmental Life Science at a small school in Pennsylvania. Our class just finished a unit on ecosystems and decided to research, build, and observe terrariums. We would like to include other students around the world to join in our terrarium project. Building a terrarium is a fun and educational way to apply key concepts about ecosystems. If you are interested in joining our terrarium project, send me an email and I will provide you with more information. This is our first attempt to collaborate with other classes and we are looking forward to it. We are expecting to make some mistakes along the way...but that's how we'll learn! The Terrariums Around the World website should be ready in about two weeks. Our thought is that each participating class will have their own page to share information, pictures, video, and data about their terrarium(s). Our hope is that students will comment and discuss the various terrarium themes, building materials, plants, and observational data on the site. We look forward to hearing from you.
Have a great day!
