GEC 2016 Volunteers

We sincerely thank you volunteering your time to benefit thousands of educators around the world!

Please join this group, as it is the discussion and email group for volunteer moderators. Instructions are below.

  • Please sign up to volunteer during conference time slots at https://gec2016volunteer.youcanbook.meWe need lots of volunteering, so we encourage you to sign up for more than one time if you can!
  • Training is available at http://learningrevolution.com/page/conference-2-0-training, and can be taken live or by video recording.
  • During the conference, we ask you to come into the volunteer moderator lounge 30 minutes in advance of your time slot. The lounge is at http://www.thevolunteerlounge.me. We will assign you when you arrive to one of the upcoming sessions, and you will also keep the volunteer lounge room open so you can get help if you need any!
  • The time of your volunteer session(s), once you have signed up, is listed on the schedule page for your time zone. Please double check to make sure you know when you are scheduled for volunteering.
  • IMPORTANT: The private page that lists the presenter/moderator links for each individual session is http://www.globaleducationconference.com/page/presenter-and-moderator-linksThis is where you and the presenters will find the link to enter the session room with the correct privileges. This page is just for presenters and moderators, so please do not share it as we do not want any participants entering session rooms as moderators
  • Please continue to let people know about this free conference! You can find promotional materials here.

Thanks again for your all help! You are essential to this conference!

More Information

Another HUGE and special thanks to you for volunteering at the conference!

More information:

  • If you are interested in getting further involved with the conference and possibly serving on the GEC Leadership Team, then this is a good place to start. Lucy and Steve can get to know your work a bit better if you are more active in the GEC community.
  • This is a great place for you to start to get to know other globally-minded folks!  We believe that global projects are best designed by teachers who have an pre-existing professional relationship.
  • Highly experienced (and really dedicated) volunteers often serve as "Super Moderators". This means that they supervise a longer shift and assign volunteers to session rooms.
  • We also need volunteers who can translate conference materials into other languages.
  • Occasionally, we have special volunteer projects such as developing multimedia tutorials and publicity materials for those who are highly skilled with technology.
  • We will have volunteer badges for participants for this year's conference season.
