In continuation of my original discussion, I am to add few more points below-
In 21st century, Global Education can consider all the issues leading to world crisis as on today and come up with broad and generalized recommendations. But it may not be possible to design country wise education systems. For example, I examine present situation in three countries-SOMALIA,USA & INDIA.
In SOMALIA, literacy rate is mere 25%.Formal education system was almost completely destroyed as a result of civil war beginning from 1991.Although there are four basic levels of education of education viz pre primary,primary,secondary/vocational and higher, but due gender lines, quality of educational provisions, responsiveness of school curricula, educational standard & control, management & planning capacity and financing; efficiency of education system is almost zeroed down. The result is a state of anarchy and collapse of country's economy. In 2011 two consecutive missed rainy seasons precipitated worst drought which has endangered the lives of the people.Education system has collapsed. Lack of resources has aggravated the problems.Education is to be redefined under such violent poverty stricken environment of the country.
In USA, being a highly prosperous country,it appears in education sector something is wrong as can be observed from school shootouts, immoral and violent behavior of students and opening of fraud educational institutions to invite foreign students for money earning etc.All such factors are to be considered to redefine education in USA in 21st century.
In INDIA, education has become purely business oriented. Quality of education has deteriorated to a great extent.Frequent experimentation has created havoc in education system.Teachers are ill paid and do not enjoy good status in the society as they deserve.During last few years technical educational institutions mushroomed, as a result during the current year students are not available and many engineering colleges are closed down.
As such, each country has to design its own education system depending on social, economic, environmental situation and resources available.IN ANY CASE EDUCATION SHOULD NOT BE A BUSINESS and equated with money earning. The main objective should be to create a healthy, harmonious and peaceful human resource to improve the productivity of a country in all sectors for a sustainable future.
