How Can the ISTE NETS for Teachers Develop the Global Educator Inside of You?

Target Audience (such as primary school teachers, high school administrators, students, etc.): Elementary Teachers and Administrators
Short Session Description (one line): Teachers who look at the teacher NETS will realize how global collaboration or communication will help you attain those standards.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like): As a Librarian-Teacher, former Tech Coordinator and Global Educator, the ISTE NETS for teachers and students are important to me. The teachers NETS are not the same as the students. If you are only doing what your students are doing, you are falling behind. Spend time discussing the Teacher Standards:

  • What are they?
  • How can they help you?
  • Why do you need them?
  • How do they help you become a global educator?

The Standards can help you become part of the globally educator world. This session will explore how to make the ISTE NETS  for teachers understandable for teachers wanting to expand the classroom beyond the walls of their school.

Okay, I'm blind... this is not a duplicate. However, it's not tied to the mission of the conference. Please review that (under the pull down menu for the 2012 conference) and adjust as necessary. This is not a tech conference solely!

I actually think this is OK.  Toni, it might benefit from some more detail on the "global" activities and connections, but I think I understand what you are proposing here.  Lucy, I suggest we accept.

Hi Steve- I did take Lucy's advise and made it more global stuff, but I will add more details. Working on the presentation now.
