Wanting to make global connections

I am a fifth grade teacher in Texas who wants to connect and collaborate with other classes around the country or around the world. Please respond if you are interested. Thanks!

Chandra, I'm the community manager here and I'm sure you'll get some responses if you get more specific with what you'd like to do. The more details you provide, the more likely other teachers will see if partnering with you is a good fit. Be specific about the units or activities you're thinking about! I've also found that it's sometimes more effective to seek out other teachers and ask them to participate in something rather than waiting for them to come to you. If you go to the Members page, you can search our membership and you might find some other fifth grade teachers. Lisa Parisi is one person I know that might be willing to work with you if you send her a message. 

Also, browse through the discussion forum (DISCUSSIONS in the green nav bar) and see if there's anything there that might be of interest.

Najafova, I am thinking of some sort of recipe/cookbook exchange, for one thing. My students all have laptops. We would love to communicate with your students some way. I can be reached at chough@fwacademy.org. Which two projects do you coordinate? I would love to look at them. Thanks!

I am so excited to have found this group who would like to collaborate across the global. What is exciting is I have developed an online collaborative site where you can share data and communicate in groups.

For example the setting is perfect for classroom environment. I can just visualize Chandra and Geeta collaborating with each other and their students in this space.

I was wondering if you would like to know more.

Over the last decade or so I have travelled around the world and think from a global perspective. With the connectivity that we have now it is so important for the next generation to become aware at that level.
