Short Session Description (one line):

Round Square is piloting a collaborative online global-learning project for their network of more than 100 schools. In partnership with the World Leadership School and TakingITGlobal, RS schools are taking advantage of existing pedagogies and e-technologies to develop collaborative experiences among member schools, teachers, and students.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

Online global partnerships often fail because it is difficult to find partner teachers with the same level of interest and passion. Round Square is piloting an approach to global learning using its existing global network of more than 100 schools to help teachers develop meaningful learning experiences by connecting their classrooms. In partnership with World Leadership School and TakingITGlobal, the pilot program provides professional development to Round Square teachers, helping them find partner teachers and explore global education methodologies, pedagogies, and e-technologies. Teachers then develop effective collaborative projects and strategies.  Utilizing approaches such as project- and challenge-based learning, teachers at Appleby College and Chadwick School are receiving professional development coaching and opportunities for dialogue, all intended to create transformative experiences for their students in collaboration with students from other schools around the world.

Jennifer:  this also looks great, but is it advertising a paid PD program?

Hi Steve. It's not a paid program at all--it's an experiment we want to share. Right now, only Round Square schools are involved, and RS is footing the bill as we get it running. But ultimately, we'll need schools beyond the network to get involved, and we have no intention (as far as I know!) of charging people for it.

I'm glad to resubmit the proposal if you think this isn't clear--but I'm also in Peru for a month, so it won't happen for a while! Can you have the group reassess it with the current write up, knowing now that we're not trying to advertise but to share an approach, where an existing network is trying out collaborative global learning? Please let me know--my email address is jennifer@principledlearning.org. Thanks!

Jennifer

OK, I get it!  Looks terrific.
