Hello All.

Happy holidays! At the moment I am developing a course for educators in the Middle East on using technology to address key areas of need within "school communities". Each team of educators will develop a technology facilitated project throughout the spring.

As part of the course readings, I would like to highlight several examples of creative and high-impact technology-facilitated projects throughout the world.

If you have or know of a great projects, I would be grateful if you could post a link to the project below.

Thanks!

Anna

Hi Anna,

Can you give some examples of the kinds of technology you are interested in hearing about?

Thanks!

Maggie

I don't know if this is any use, but we have just had a highly successful project between schools in UK and Ireland using the Nintendo Wii - we got the children to use the wii music programme to work in bands as well as creating a sports day with the sports and Olympic games. It has won couple of awards, but it may not be what you want so let me know. Paddy Carroll
Oh wow. Do you have a website or case study or write-up that highlights your project. It would be lovely to show it to the teachers I am working with in the UAE. -Anna

Check out the ePals/National Geographic projects posted at www.epals.com/projects. These have a clear structure (in English) and a limit defined at the beginning (typically 5-6 emails exchanged or other activities undertaken using various technologies, including possibly digital camera, video, audio, and more).

Also check out the teacher-created projects at: http://www.epals.com/projects/info.aspx?divid=spotlight_main.

Many ePals participants from the Middle East are learning English, so the projects they engage in allow for English language practice with native speakers.

I do a webinar, ePals 101, and could arrange to do a session for you by Skype with enough advance notice. Or sign up for a webinar at: http://epals.101.sgizmo.com.

Many parts of ePals, including their projects, are free to use.

Students can also post their final work on the Student Media Galleries: http://www.epals.com/media/87/default.aspx

Up to 27 million unique viewers monthly....quite a wide gallery for student work being posted safely!

Hi Anna

I am from the middle east. I am from Israel.

How can we collaborate?
