Dear Diane,

I am Geeta Rajan from New Delhi,India.I teach English to Grade 12 students.I work with St.Mark's Sr.Sec.Public School,Meera Bagh,New Delhi.

I have been working with iEARN for the past three years and my students have really benefitted a lot.

Infact,recently,I was the facilitator for O3 course and was reporting to Losira Okelo.

If you think I can contribute in any way to your proposal,I shall be more than happy to contribute..

Hi Geeta,

I do encourage to submit a proposal about how working in iEARN projects help you meet the educational standards in India.  I think it would be very interesting to have iEARNers from several countries share together on this.  I am sure one of our USA teachers would be happy to join.

The purpose of this proposal is admittedly mainly for USA teachers because the USA has recently adopted a set of new standards that will affect teaching in most of our states.  It would be great to have you join us and maybe share how similar or different our standards are.

I do hope that there will be a presentation on the O3 project.  That is very interesting.

Thanks a ton for this motivating reply.

Would you like me to send a proposal to you regarding working in iEARN projects helping us meet the educational standards in India.

I am sorry for I had no idea that your proposal was mainly for educators from the US.

But,I am sure,you can give it a much broader perspective by including iEARN eduactors from different countries.

As for a presentation on the O3 project,I had not thought of it at all.But now that you have mentioned it,I shall do it.And yes,it is very interesting.

No apologies needed Geeta.  Yes, it is helpful to have other perspectives and we welcome them.  Please do submit a proposal regarding the standards in India.  The whole purpose of the USA Common Core Standards is to have our students reach the level of rest of the world.

Let Losira know you are interested in the O3 presentation.  I think she was considering submitting one but it would look much better coming from you.  Hopefully you can Alema involved and participants from both countries.

I shall be in touch with you over this..But,will I be presenting my proposal from an Indian perspective.....I mean how collaborative work is helping my students???Don't I need co-presenters in this case??

Or do you think you should be the key presenter and add educators from other countries like me to your theme???

I like the both ideas.  Add educators from other countries to the  
Common core theme and I like your theme on how collaborative work is  
helping your students.  I could give you 5 minutes in the Common core  
session.  You could invite other teachers from India to yours.

Fine!!!Now I will be one speaker in your group wherein the theme will be the common core one.I don't have any idea about other Indian teachers but I will,certainly be there.I shall take five minutes to speak on my experience of collaborative work and how the students benefit.

Where will O3 fit in then???

Hi Geeta,

I was thinking of the O3 project to be another presentation.  It would have you, Alema, Losira and hopefully some of the teachers involved.  You could talk about what you learned and what the teachers will be doing as well as discuss the experience of online learning.
