Hello Global Educators!

I'm writing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I am the middle school IT facilitator at Mont'Kiara International School. Prior to this, I was the MS Academic IT Coordinator at Munich International School in Germany. Next year I will start a new posting at the International School Bangkok as the 21st Century Literacy specialist for the Elementary School.

Over the past year I've really started focusing on internationally collaborative projects utilizing technology. I would love to set up some new connections for the coming year :)

Kim, this sounds great. How did you go about organizing those connections for collaborative projects?
Hi Miguel,

I actually just posted about this, but to be honest with you, it has all just come about so naturally - reading blogs and maintaining my own has helped me make so many connections with so many other teachers.

I've also joined a few of the major projects going (like 1001 Tales, just joined the Horizon Project Sounding Board, Jennifer Wagner's Online Projects 4 Teachers), but the connections from blogging really started it all off.

This week I spent a few hours on my networks on Ning and made tons of new connections for next year quite quickly as well. I'm always open to trying something new, so anytime anyone writes about an interesting project, that fits in with our curriculum, I try to participate.
Kim,
I am interested in starting some international online literature circles with 4th and 5th graders. Do you know anyone or would you be willing to collborate with us
Sue Harris
Hi Sue,

I am sure I can find a fourth or fifth grade teacher (or both!) at ISB next year that would be willing to collaborate! The only problem is that I don't start until August (I'm still in KL until June), so we would have to begin planning then - is that OK for you?
Kim,
Anytime after you get settled. I have a 5th grade teacher already onboard. I'll look for a 4th.Thanks for the opportunity.
Sue
Kim,
Here is the wiki address I have started for the online literature circles.I will be adding new posts regularly.

Hi Sue,

Awesome! I will bookmark the site and get back to you to work out the details as soon as I'm settled in to ISB :)
I love your new title, Kim.... 21st Century Literary Specialist !
Thanks Lucy! It is pretty cool! I am so excited to work at a place that would actually have that position title!
